To install SNMP on Windows 7, open Control Panel and then click on Programs and Features. (when viewed by icons)
Then, click on "Turn Windows features on or off" link in the left pane. If UAC prompted, then click on Yes.
Then, in the Windows Features window, scroll down and select "Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)" check box and click on OK. Then, wait for some time to install SNMP.
After installing SNMP, click on Start Orb and then type Services.msc in the Search box and hit Enter.
Then, scroll down in the right pane and right click on SNMP Services and select Properties.
In the General tab, make sure that Startup type is set to Automatic.
Then, click on Security tab. Now, click the upper Add button and in the SNMP Service Configuration box, type the community name to which your computer will send trap messages and then click on Add button.
Make sure the "Accept SNMP packets from any host" button is checked, or click the lower Add button and enter the IP of your SNMP server.
Then, click on Apply and then OK.
Then in the Services window, while SNMP Service is highlighted, click on "Restart the service" on the left side.
This should give you SNMP V1 and V2 outputs from the Windows 7 system when queried form a SNMP server.
