“home only” means that the virtual disk will only be presented to the ports belonging to the RP/Controller for that virtual disk.
For example,| Home |Background|Idx|Name | State |Pool|Raid|Cap GB|Settings| Jobs |Current|Preferred| Job |--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->/font>0 vd-0_0 READY 0 6 7224 W M I 0(R) 0 0(R) 0 INACTIVE1 vd-1_1 READY 1 6 7224 W M I 0(R) 1 0(R) 1 INACTIVE2 vd-2_2 READY 2 6 7224 W M I 1(L) 0 1(L) 0 INACTIVE3 vd-3_7 READY 7 6 7224 W M I 1(L) 1 1(L) 1 INACTIVE4 vd-4_8 READY 8 6 7224 W M I 0(R) 0 0(R) 0 INACTIVE5 vd-5_9 READY 9 6 7224 W M I 0(R) 1 0(R) 1 INACTIVEIn the Home/Current|Preferred columns you get the “Preferred Path” of each virtual disk.0(R) 0: This means…first number, controller ID, (R) is remote controller, relative to which controller you are logged on, second number is RP.Therefore, vd-0_0, preferred home/path is controller 0, RP 0. If you were to turn on “Home Only”, the virtual disk will only be seen by initiators that are connected or have access to the host ports that belong to C0-RP0.| Enabled Channels | | |Pres. | Host | Host | VD | | Home | Read | Ctrl 0 | Ctrl 1 | | Child |Index | Name | Index | Index | LUN | Only | Only | RP 0 | RP 1 | RP 0 | RP 1 |Fault Status|Fault Status|-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------00000 VD presented to all hosts ALL 00000 000 OFF R/W 01234567 01234567 01234567 01234567 OK OK00001 VD presented to all hosts ALL 00001 001 OFF R/W 01234567 01234567 01234567 01234567 OK OK00002 VD presented to all hosts ALL 00002 002 OFF R/W 01234567 01234567 01234567 01234567 OK OK00003 VD presented to all hosts ALL 00003 003 OFF R/W 01234567 01234567 01234567 01234567 OK OK00004 VD presented to all hosts ALL 00004 004 OFF R/W 01234567 01234567 01234567 01234567 OK OK00005 VD presented to all hosts ALL 00005 005 OFF R/W 01234567 01234567 01234567 01234567 OK OKSo if Home Only is ON for VD 0 above, then only the initiators below that are seen by Controller 0/RP 0 will see this virtual disk.| Initiator Identifier | Controller 0 | Controller 1 |Index | Type | ID | node | port | RP 0 | RP 1 | RP 0 | RP 1 |------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------00204 FC 0x01a600 0x2000000e1e09ec98 0x2100000e1e09ec98 | 6 | | 600205 FC 0x01a600 0x2000000e1e09ec99 0x2100000e1e09ec99 | 7| | 700456 FC 0x019400 0x20000024ff8ce5bc 0x21000024ff8ce5bc 0 | |0 |00501 FC 0x010e00 0x20000024ff4beea0 0x21000024ff4beea0 | 4 | | 400503 FC 0x010e00 0x20000024ff4beea1 0x21000024ff4beea1 | 5 | | 500509 FC 0x019500 0x20000024ff8ce4df 0x21000024ff8ce4df 1 | | 1 |00510 FC 0x019400 0x20000024ff8ce5bd 0x21000024ff8ce5bd 1 | | 1 |00511 FC 0x019500 0x20000024ff8ce4de 0x21000024ff8ce4de 0 | |0 |00532 FC 0x010b00 0x20000024ff2e0ee7 0x21000024ff2e0ee7 3 | | 3 |00535 FC 0x010700 0x20000024ff2ed304 0x21000024ff2ed304 2 | | 2 |00536 FC 0x010700 0x20000024ff2ed305 0x21000024ff2ed305 3 | | 3 |This is most likely not what you want because you notice that Initiator #204 is not even connected to C0-RP0, therefore if it’s doing IO to the SFA on VD 0, there will be problems because it will no longer see VD 0 once Home Only is set.
