Pulling messages file in Linux GUI (/var/log/messages)

1. Double Click on Computer

2. In the new window, double click on filesystem

3. In the New window, double click on var

4. In the new window, double click on log

5. In this new window, there should be the messages file we are after. The tech might ask you to also send the other (older) messages files (if there are any).

6. Copy that file, and put it somewhere that you can reach it (network share, SAN volume, thumb drive, etc) and move it to a computer and send it in. Or if this system has internet access, and you have an email program with webmail, you can send it right from this computer.
