There have been several test done to verify if it is possible to get audio from the system, other than just out of the R&S cards (AES or over SDI).

Using items such as USB headphones, and USB based sound cards, we were able to get system audio output.

However, at times, these items would introduce a noticeable lag in the the audio response, but were still usable for a rough file check or QC, or just to hear if / when the OS gives some sort of audible warning tone.

Tests were conducted using Otto USB headphones (based off a c-media chip) and a Plantronics USB soundcard (based off a c-media chip)
