Release Notes:  3.3.2.16

Includes:   Apple [125 MB] +  RHEL6 [159 MB] + Windows [148 MB]

Realase_Notes

Changes 3.3.2.16

Ingest/Transcode
· Fixed wrong aspect ratio for SD in some codecs (DV, DVCPro, XDCam)
· Added a button to the GUI to delete entries from the metadata tape name
field.
XAVC
· Fixed some warnings to be compliant with SonyFormatVerifier.
· Disabled 50p and 59.94p for XAVC intra class 50 (as it is not supported by
that format)
Playout
· Fixed artefacts while decoding MXF/MOV clips with DV or DVCPro in
720x480.
Group Mode
· Added a check to prevent one channel to write into the same clip as another
channel on the same Venice during group record.
MXF
· Fixed that the last audio track was sometimes slighly longer than the others
(which was not audible but caused a warning in MXF validators).
FIMS
· Fixed that stopping a FIMS job could lead to “completed” jobs with less than
100% progress.
Logwatch
· Fixed a bug where changing the system time could lead to wrong
timestamps in log files.
XDCam
· Added colour metadata (TransferCharacteristic, CodingEquations,
ColorPrimaries) to generic OP1a MPEG2 clips to avoid warnigns in
validators.
Update from 3.2
· Fixed a bug that could lead to a hanging Veniceserver after update from
Venice 3.2.x to 3.3.x
Quicktime
· Fixed potentially wrong audio sample count in clips written using edit-while workflows

Known Issues:

Install
· After installing the software on a VENICE 4K systems, there is a rare chance that the channel
does not start correctly. In this case, you need to reboot the system once.
Dual Destination
· Dual Destination ingests will not stop one destination if it is full. Instead this destination will drop
frames until the other destination finished recording..

 Venice 3.3.2.12 [567 MB]

Release Notes:  3.3.2.12

Includes:   Apple [131 MB] +  RHEL6 [158 MB] + Windows [156 MB]

Realase_Notes

Changes 3.3.2.12

MXF
• OPAtom now supports all timecode types (e.g.: Time of day, DVITC) instead
of only internal timecode.
• Transforming supports transwrapping of XAVC 4K files. This applies when
source and destination use the same format.
LXF
• ANC data read-out from LXF files.
Logging
• VENICE GUI writes its own log files. You can find these log-files in the
following paths:
o Windows: %APPDATA%\DVS\Venice\log
o Mac: ~/DVS/Venice/log
o Linux: ~/.DVS/Venice/log
• Client logs contain a new and more detailed header.

Ingest
• When using a time-tag (e.g.: <TIME>) in the "name & path options" to be
used in the output file-name, now the correct time (start time of the ingest) is
used.
GUI
• Improved Transform batch list mode.
VDCP
• Fixed regression of VENICE 3.3.2.9: VDCP Delete now deletes the file from
the disk (as in 3.2.x).
MOV
• QuickTime files written by VENICE now have a valid “ftyp” atom to increase
compatibility with third-party products.
MPG
• Fixed potential crash when opening a H.265 .ts file, which starts with an
incomplete GOP.
• Fixed ingest of MPEG2 video files with AC3 audio.
General
• Changed all appearances of “DVS” to “Rohde & Schwarz”.
Server
• Swapping the order of the video-boards via the PCI.conf is fixed. When the
order of the cards should change, edit the PCI.conf and swap the lines. Do
not double the entries.
Swapping cards is only supported for Atomix based systems not for VENICE 4K

Known Issues:

 Channel grouping
• It is not possible to group VENICE4K channels yet.
Install
• After installing the software on a VENICE 4K systems, there is a rare chance that the channel
does not start correctly. In this case, you need to reboot the system once.

 Venice 3.3.2.9 [567 MB]

Release Notes:  3.3.2.9

Includes:   Apple [131 MB] +  RHEL6 [158 MB] + Windows [156 MB]

Released with:  Spycer 3.2.1.8 + Venice_4K_Digilab2up_2.7.4.6 + Venice_2U_AtomixHD_7.6.3.1 + AvusAvatar [134 MB]

Realase_Notes

Changes 3.3.2.9

Initial Release of VENICE Software 3.3.2.x

• VENICE 4K and VENICE 2U/4U systems can now be controlled from a
single user interface.

MOV
• Removed support for HD thin rasters (1440x1080) for DNxHD.
MPEG
• Updated the MPEG encoding SDK, which increases the encoding
robustness. Speed and quality is unchanged.
Note: Since the encoder received an update, please verify any critical
workflows or material.
WSDD
• This software uses an updated format of the WSDD configuration on the
server (/etc/opt/DVS/wsdd_client.conf). The new format allows product
specific settings (example: VENICE and Maintenance client). These settings
are stored on the server and apply to all clients.
An existing old configuration file will be converted to the new format. When
you downgrade to a previous version you have to restore the created backup
file or delete the wsdd_client.conf.

GUI
• When changing the raster, the timecode drop-frame setting is changed
accordingly: if a drop-frame raster is selected the timecode is also switched
to drop-frame. The drop-frame setting can still be changed manually.
• Fixed memory-leak on Mac OS X 10.10 and newer.
Proxy (from HD/SD sources)
• Added new SD-proxy format "MPEG4 AVC (.mp4) - Baseline 1MB".
MXF
• Ingested XAVC files (intra class 200 CBG 1920x1080p) are now always valid
and playable.
MOV
• Two channel ingest in ProRes 422 (up to HQ) is now supported for all rasters
up to UHD 59.94.
MOS
• When a placeholder clip is replaced with another clip in an already on-air
playlist, the new clip is played correctly.
Rasters
• On VENICE 4K systems full 4K rasters (4096x2160) are supported.
Installer
• On RHEL 6.2 systems, the driver version of the Intel network card is
checked. If another version as “3.3.5-NAPI” is installed, the following
message is displayed during installation: “The installed Intel NIC driver is not
the recommended version, please contact our service department.”

Known Issues:

Channel grouping
• It is not possible to group VENICE4K channels yet.
Install
• After installing the software on a VENICE 4K systems, there is a rare chance
that the channel does not start correctly. In this case, you need to reboot the
system once.

the ingest.
